Cyril Homan
Cyril "Cy" B. Homan, 87, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021, at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.
He was born on June 8, 1933, in Coldwater, to the late William and Mathilda (Wendel) Homan.
Cy is survived by his children, Kathleen (Robert) DeBolt of Union City, Indiana, Rick (Ginny) Homan of Fort Recovery, Carrol (Paul) Mertz of Fort Recovery, and Susan (Dave) Westgerdes of Coldwater; his 12 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; his sister, Linda Hoying of Coldwater; and his in-laws, Wonda Walker of Muncie, Indiana, and Dorthy Walker of Dunkirk, Indiana.
In addition to his parents, Cy was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Mae (Walker) Homan, whom he married on July 11, 1953; his son, William Homan; his grandsons, Chuck DeBolt and William Mertz; his siblings, Irene (John) Art, Veronica Homan, and Glen Nolan; his brother-in-law, Norman Hoying; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Bertha (Peterson) Walker; and his in-laws, Virgil Walker, Bill (Opal) Walker, Thelma Bregance, Evelyn Marshall, Cecil (Ruth) Walker, Bert (Nelda) Walker, Fred Walker, Tom Walker, Phebe (Bill) Bishop, Faye, and Ivy (Jesse) Nunn.
Cy was a true farmer. He loved being outdoors and tending to his crops. While farming, Cy also worked for New Idea in Coldwater for 12 years. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family. Cy was an avid card player and especially enjoyed playing cards at the sportsman club and the VFW. He was a member of the Ohio Progressive Sportsman Club, the Fort Recovery Knights of Columbus, and Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 AM on Monday, May 10, 2021, at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, with Father Ned Brown as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery in Fort Recovery.

Guests may visit with Cy's family on Sunday, May 9, 2021, from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Monday from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home.
