Paul Arnold
Paul F. Arnold, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, age 89, of Celina, passed away on August 21, 2021 at 1:41 pm at Mercy Health-St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
Lifelong resident of Celina, Paul was born December 10, 1931 to Hosea and Alvera (Hoel) Arnold. On September 14, 1952 he married Edith Odell Beasley in Atmore, Alabama and she survives at their residence.
Paul is also survived by three sons, Timothy (Joyce) Arnold, Celina, Daniel (Jeannette) Arnold, Celina and Gregory (Sharon) Arnold, Prescott Valley, Arizona; sister-in-law, Betty Jean Arnold; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Three brothers preceded him in death, Boyd Arnold, Gene (Myrna) Arnold and Alvin (Jeannette) Arnold; Brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gaston Beasley, Ernestine Etheridge, Carolyn Simmons and Virginia Amos; and two nieces.
Paul is a graduate of Celina High School and Ohio Northern University College of Pharmacy. He served for 4 years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Along with his wife, they owned Bair Pharmacy in Celina. He was appointed to the Ohio Northern College of Pharmacy Perceptor's program. He and his wife owned the Wyckoff Building of Celina, and they built and started The Fountain restaurant in Celina.
Paul was very active in the community, he was Mayor of Celina 2000-2003, Celina City Schools Board of Education 1978-1981, Celina Board of Zoning Appeals, President of Lakefield Airport Authority for three years and past trustee of the Celina Chamber of Commerce.
He was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying his own airplane. Paul was a lifetime member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Celina; he was a member of the church choir for over 70 years and was a Lay Speaker.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Bethany United Methodist Church in Celina with the Rev. James Wilson officiating; where the family will receive friends from 9:30 am - 10:30 am prior to the service at the church.
Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery in Celina with military rites to be conducted by Celina American Legion Post #210 and VFW Post #5713.
Attendees are encouraged to follow social distancing and guidelines dictated by the Ohio Department of Health, due to the national concerns of COVID-19.
