Viola Homan
Viola I. Homan, age 87, of St. Rose, died Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at the Gardens at Celina.
She was born January 23, 1934 in Chickasaw, to the late Aloys & Cecilia (Bruns) Eyink. On October 6, 1956 she married Wilbert J. 'Bill' Homan and he survives.
She is survived by children and in-laws: Dale (Lynn) Homan of Maria Stein, Nicholas (Missy) Homan of New Bremen, Gerald (Linda) Homan of Meriden, Connecticut, Randall (Deb) Homan of Maria Stein, Rosann (Ronald) Lochtefeld of Chickasaw, Mary Jean (Bradley) Verhoff of Montezuma and Bonnie (David) Tangeman of Maria Stein; 25 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren + 2 on the way. Siblings and in-laws, Mary Ann Gruss of Coldwater, Ken (Kathy) Eyink of Coldwater, Esther Eyink of Chickasaw, Mary Eyink of New Bremen, Donald Feltz of Coldwater, Lowell (Marian) Homan of New Bremen, Viola (Dennis) Mescher of Maria Stein, Alice Wynk of Montezuma and Ivo (Norma) Homan of Maria Stein.
She was also preceded in death by a grandchild; siblings and in-laws Edgar (Rita) Eyink, Ernest Eyink, Alice Feltz, Tom Eyink, Vincent Gruss, and Omer Wynk.
She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, the ladies sodality of the church, CCD teacher, resurrection choir, the St. Rose-Cassella card club and volunteered at Briarwood in Coldwater. Viola worked at Winner's Meats and in the cafeteria at Marion Local Schools. Viola enjoyed spending time with her family. She was the family prayer warrior and master cookie baker.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Precious Blood Church in Chickasaw.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater on Friday from 2 to 7 pm and on Saturday from 9 to 9:45 am. Burial will follow in St. Rose cemetery.
