James Pfeffenberger
James R. Pfeffenberger, age 91, a native of Celina, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, October 21, 2021, at Miller Place in Celina.
He was born October 2, 1930, in Celina, to the late Arthur F. and Verla L. (Huffman) Pfeffenberger. On April 30, 1955, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, James married Wilma (Wellman) Pfeffenberger, who preceded him in death September 21, 2021.
Jim is survived by five of his children: Jane (Greg) Homan, Linda (Steve) Seibel, and Don (Kelly) Pfeffenberger, all of Celina, Amy (Mark) McGraw of Troy, and Bob (Zeny) Pfeffenberger of West Alexandria, son-in-law, Dan Frantz of Versailles, In-laws: Jenny and Dick Alig of Coldwater, and Norma Wellman of Jay County, Indiana, and many nieces & nephews. Jim is also survived by seventeen grandchildren: Jacob, Josh and Brianna Frantz, Ryan (Janelle) Homan, Nicole (Derek) Agler, Laura Homan, Doug Felver, Katie Felver (Mark Parisien), Alex (Nadine) Seibel, Aaron Seibel, Kyle (Olivia) Pfeffenberger, Angie (Brian) Reitmann, Cory Pfeffenberger, Taylor Pfeffenberger (Craig Sommer), Rozen (Jared) Radaker, and Jo and Kat Pfeffenberger; and seven great grandchildren: Callie, Kayla, Brooke, Jace, Paxton, Bryant, and Maren.
Deceased family members include his daughter, Diane Frantz, son-in-law, Jeff Felver, sibling, Mary (Bill) Millhouse, and In-laws: Mildred (Melvin) Brunswick, Norbert (Julianna) Wellman, Cletus (Lou Ann) Wellman, Marcella (Wilbert) Reier, Lavern Wellman, and Doris (Dennis) Grieshop.
Jim was a devout member of Immaculate Conception Church in Celina. He worked at Mersman Tables in Celina. He was a deeply loved father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren, and was always available to assist them in any way possible. Jim loved spending time with family.
He loved a challenge, and could fix anything. His hobbies included farming, hunting, fishing, and carpentry work. He loved taking his family to Florida for camping trips and time spent on the beach.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 26, at Immaculate Conception Church in Celina, with Fr. Ken Schnipke, C.PP.S., presiding. The Mass will be live-streamed on the church's website at https://celina-ic.org/live, with the video to be accessible online for 30 days following the services. Burial will take place at St. Marys Cemetery in Celina.
Calling Hours will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., Monday, October 25, and 9:15 to 10:15 a.m., on Tuesday, October 26, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to: The Immaculate Conception Education Endowment Fund, Alzheimer's Association, EverHeart Hospice, or The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
