Carolyn Bambauer
Carolyn S. Bambauer, 87, of New Knoxville, Ohio, died 8:48 P.M. Monday, November 15, 2021, at her residence.
She was born May 18, 1934, in Buckland, Ohio, the daughter of Walter and Violet (Truesdale) Leffel. She married Roger Bambauer on April 1, 1956, at the New Knoxville United Methodist Church; he preceded her in death on May 6, 2015.
She is survived by her children: Cindy (Fred) Wierwille of New Knoxville; Bruce (Peg) Bambauer of New Knoxville; David (Judy) Bambauer of New Knoxville; Diane (Bill) Piehl of New Knoxville; Joann (Jill Shaffner) of Kettering. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Cindy Bambauer of Cincinnati; by her grandchildren: Matt (Cheryl) Bambauer; Mitch (Lucy) Bambauer; Melissa (Dusty) Knapke: Becky (Terrance) Sledge; Katie (Nathan) Roddy; Kale Wierwille; Abby (Rick) Homan; Hannah (Aaron) Bastian; Brad (Laura) Piehl; Lauren (Andrew) Hawkey; Chloe Bambauer; Jake Bambauer; Maddie Bambauer; Peyton Bambauer. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Emily; Brent; Molly; Esther; Kara; Kurtis; Luke; Roan; Rhett; Addison; August; Ellie; Josie; Kaleb, and one more on the way. She is survived by her siblings: Marilyn (Jim) Lauth of St. Marys; Joe Leffel of St. Marys; Joyce Meyer Raterman of Botkins; Linda Niemeyer of New Knoxville; Sharon Kruse of New Knoxville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger; by her son, Steve Bambauer; by her siblings: Quetora Stout; Leila Lauth; Morris Leffel; Larry Leffel.
Carolyn was a 1952 graduate of Blume High School in Wapakoneta. She was a homemaker and a great baker- well known for her carrot cake and cookies -and a very giving person. She was a very active lady who loved taking care of people, and she enjoyed playing cards and attending her grandchildrens' events. She was a member of the New Knoxville United Methodist Church.
Funeral rites will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the New Knoxville United Methodist Church, the Reverend Dennis Gaertner, officiant. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Friends may call from 3-8 P.M. Friday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, St. Marys, where memorial gifts may be given to either New Knoxville United Methodist Church or Grand Lake Hospice.
