Doris Schemmel
Doris I. Schemmel age 88 of Osgood, Ohio died Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
She was born February 20, 1933 in Osgood, Ohio to the late Edward & Regina (Bills) Albers. She married Norbert Schemmel on October 15, 1955 at St. Nicholas Church, Osgood, Ohio and he preceded her in death on October 23, 2020.
She is survived by children: Linda & Ken Thobe, Minster, Lavern & Melissa Schemmel, Maria Stein, Edward & Lisa Schemmel, Maria Stein, Denise & Roger Rethman, Maria Stein, 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, brothers & sisters: Paul & Mary Albers, Osgood, Bertie Albers, Celina, Don & Annie Albers, Osgood, Agnes & Dale Goettemoeller, Maria Stein, Barb & John Sherman, Newport, Roger & Shirley Albers, Maria Stein, Phyllis Poeppelman, Minster, brother-in-law Urban Drees, Versailles.
She was preceded in death by 2 great grandchildren, brothers & sisters: Ralph & Rosemary Albers, Rita Albers, Mary & Clem Poeppelman and Cy Albers, in-laws: Larry & Luetta Schemmel, Marietta & Lawrence Holthaus, Rosalie & Dick Luebke, Alma & Bill Rutschilling, Louis & Pauline (Drees) Schemmel, Vern Schemmel, Linus Schemmel & Joseph Schemmel.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood and of the Ladies Sodality. She worked at New Idea until her & Norbert started a family and then she was a homemaker and a farmer's wife. She enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping, eating out and loved to dance.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood. Burial will follow at St. Martin Cemetery, Osgood.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 and from 9 to 10 AM on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
