CELINA - The former Orchard Tree Restaurant at 501 Grand Lake Road has been purchased by Mercer Health.
Jon Dingledine, chief financial officer at Mercer Health, said officials closed on the building on Thursday at a cost of $465,000.
The idea to purchase the building came up a few months ago, Dingledine said. Mercer Health officials had been in communication with the former owners over the past few months, he said.
There are no immediate plans for the facility, Dingledine said. However, Dingledine said the decision to purchase the building makes sense because Mercer Health has office spaces nearby at the Celina Pro health complex on Pro Drive, as well as the Grand Lake Regional Cancer Center on Havemann Road.
"Mercer Health is looking to deliver the best care for the community, and we know Celina has a large population in the county," Dingledine said. "We're excited about the possibilities."
