Susan Eckstein
Susan V. "Sue" Eckstein, age 62, of Celina, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 10, 2022, in the Emergency Department at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.
Sue was born September 26, 1959, in Celina, a daughter of Ralph W. & Gladys M. (Garman) Dillion, who both preceded her in death.
Surviving is Susan's fiancé, Barry Epps, her children: Mandy Goodwin (Hector Santos) and Kyle Eckstein, all of Celina, Barry's children: Charissa (Jason) Glorioso of Lima, and Ryan (Kendra) Epps, of Iowa, and brothers & sisters: David (Diane) Shinn of Tennessee, and Carol Strahm, Daniel (Michelle) Dillion, and Jane (Richard) Westgerdes, all of Celina.
Barry and Sue have nine grandchildren: Ethan Wade Miller, Jawann Bunley, Eva Goodwin, Jude, Jayden & Jensen Glorioso, and Malachi, Kayden & Oaklynn Epps.
A brother-in-law, Bill Strahm, also preceded her in death.
Susan grew up attending the Celina Church of the Nazarene. She was very active, and enjoyed traveling and visiting casinos. For many years, Sue was an avid league bowler, and participated on a traveling team. Sue had worked at Huffy Bicycles for 17 years, and then as an assembly line worker at the Honda Engine Plant in Anna until 2006.
In 2006, Susan's life forever changed. She survived a brain aneurysm, which altered her physical life, but did not dim her spirit. She was unable to walk, but did not allow her wheelchair to define or limit her. Sue carried on her life with a positive attitude and a strength most could never muster.
Her current interests were bird watching, cat watching, and online shopping. Most of all, she couldn't wait to see the grandkids and spend time with them. Susan will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
The family plans to hold A Celebration of Life at a later date.
In Susan's memory, please consider a donation to a local hospice group.
Condolences can be expressed to the family at dickandsonshellwarthfh.com. Arrangements by: W.H. Dick & Sons - Hellwarth Funeral Home of Celina.
