Joe Martin
Joe Steven Martin, 74, of Celina, OH died Thursday January 13, 2022 at his residence.
He was born January 23, 1947 in Moulton Twp. - Auglaize Co., OH to Norman "Sam" and Florence (McDermitt) Martin. On November 7, 1992 he married Patricia Puchalski, who survives.
He is also survived by: daughter Carissa Martin of Jacksonville, NC; daughter Lori (Armando Oregon) Oregon of Newport, NC; 4 grandchildren: Brennan, Kyleigh, Justine, Kasey; 4 great-grandchildren; Nieces and nephews; Extended family members: Jeff, Jodi (Roy "T-Bone"), Gaile (Mary), Dale and Patty's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: parents Norman "Sam" and Florence Martin; granddaughter Alyssa Martin; brother Gerald Martin; brother Rodney Martin; nephew Jaysen Martin; great-nephew Jaysen Hone.
He was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1965) and attended Miami-Jacobs Business College in Dayton, OH. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. In his younger years, he was an ironworker and boilermaker. He later retired from the federal government, where he worked as an inspector assigned to the tank plant in Lima, OH.
His favorite pastimes included golfing, fishing, boating on Grand Lake St. Marys and rooting for the Cleveland Browns. He was particularly fond of spending time on the beaches of North Carolina with his daughters and grandchildren. An accomplished artist, he created many oil paintings that are considered treasures to his family.
Rites are scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. on Monday January 17, 2022 at the Miller - Long & Folk Funeral Home 314 W. High Street in St. Marys, OH. Military funeral honors will be observed at the conclusion of his services.
Visitation 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
