Up to a foot of snow, quarter inch of ice possible

Mercer and Auglaize counties are in a winter storm watch effective Wednesday morning through Friday morning, according to the Wilmington office of the National Weather Service, as a foot of snow and a quarter inch of ice are forecast.

CELINA - The Mercer County common pleas court judge's race is heating up as Donna Post, a former magistrate of the probate/juvenile court, announced her candidacy on Monday.
Pending certification of petitions, Post and county prosecutor Matthew K. Fox will face off in a contested Republican primary election on May 3. The winner will advance to the Nov. 8 general election. [More]

MARIA STEIN - The two doctors at one of the few remaining private medical practices in the county announced that on March 1 they will join separate health care systems.
WAPAKONETA - Auglaize County Health Department officials in a news release Monday reported two new deaths and 100 new cases of COVID-19 in the county since Thursday, raising the county's cumulative death toll to 99 and the cumulative number of cases to 7,210 since the pandemic began two years ago.
