Laurie Hendricks
Laurie Eichenauer Hendricks, age 46, of Celina, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at her residence, after a two-year battle with cancer. Laurie was a fighter and remained determined to beat cancer.
Laurie was born on November 21, 1975, in Coldwater, to Dennis and Beverly (Ables) Eichenauer. Her mother died on March 12, 2013. Her father survives in Celina.
Also surviving are her fiancé, Matt VanTilburg and his daughter Baily, her sister, Becky (Dusty) Weitzel, two nieces and a nephew: Katie (Jordan) Rodriguez, Emily Weitzel, and Carson Weitzel, and a great-nephew, Jack Rodriguez.
Preceding her in death were her Maternal Grandparents: Jimmy and Gaynelle Ables and Paternal Grandparents: Kenneth and Luella Eichenauer.
A 1994 graduate of Celina High School, Laurie had worked at RG Sound and Communication and then attained her licensure for property and casualty insurance, and worked at Leugers Insurance Agency in Celina. Laurie attended St. John Lutheran Church in Celina. Always an active individual, Laurie had a variety of interests. She loved trips to Florida and spending time at the beach. Favorite pastimes were horses, walking, riding her bike and playing with her dog, Wes. Sports she participated in were: church volleyball and the Wednesday night ladies' tennis group. She was a fan of Ohio State Buckeyes Football and the University of Kentucky Wildcats Basketball. She adored her nieces and nephew and followed their sporting events and activities. She also enjoyed attending Baily's horse shows. Spending time daily with her great nephew, Jack, would brighten up her days during her illness.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, May 16th, at St. John Lutheran Church in Celina. Pastor Jeff Gramza will officiate. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-6:00 PM, Sunday, May 15th, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, and 10:00 - 11:00 AM on Monday, May 16th, at the church.
Memorials in honor of Laurie may be made to the Cancer Association of Mercer County or to the Mercer County Civic Foundation for a fund to be established.
