Richard Meckstroth
Richard "Dick" N. Meckstroth, age 72, of St. Marys, passed away at 5:10 am on June 9, 2022, at Elmwood Assisted Living in New Bremen, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born February 25, 1950 in Celina to the late Reuben and Margaret (Dammeyer) Meckstroth. Dick married JoAnn (Meinerding) Meckstroth on September 14, 1973 and she survives at their residence in St. Marys.
He is also survived by his two loving daughters, Melissa (Shaun) Rodriguez of St. Marys and Mandi (Tony) Bruns of New Bremen; two sisters, Patty (Robert) Snyder, New Knoxville and Betty (Bob) Dietrich, New Bremen; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Al (Janet) Meinerding, St. Marys, Elaine (Sam) Yancey, St. Marys, Dave (Jane) Meinerding, St. Marys, Steve (Mary Jane) Mackenbach, St. Marys and Doris (Dave) Thurston, Saint Louis, MO; four grandchildren, Alex Rodriguez, Quinten Rodriguez, Alania Bruns and Jackson Bruns; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Dick was a 1968 graduate of New Bremen High School. He retired from the United States Post Office in 2015 after many years of employment. He enjoyed working, drinking beer, horse races, and walking with his family on the towpath in St. Marys. Dick also enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds, Nascar and the Cincinnati Bengals; but most important to him was spending time with family.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 in the Cisco Funeral Home, St. Marys, with Rev. Tim Benjamin officiating.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 am - 11:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen.
