Firefighters from Celina, St. Marys and St. Marys Township responded at 5:52 p.m. Wednesday to a house fire at 6993 Harris Road in Jefferson Township. An ember from a previous campfire is believed to have started a fire to the back side of the home, according to Celina Fire Chief Doug Wolters. The home owner, Jacob Triplett, was able to extinguish most of the fire himself with a garden hose before firefighters arrived, Wolters said, estimating the damage at $4,000.
