Vincent Schoenherr
Vincent Albert Schoenherr, 91, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He was born on April 8, 1931, in Cassella, Ohio, to the late Aloys and Cleopha (Boeke) Schoenherr.
Vincent is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marjorie (Lange) Schoenherr, whom he married on October 22, 1955; his children, Susan (Terry) Kunkler of Fort Recovery, Mary Dahlinghaus of Portland, Indiana, Mark Schoenherr of Fort Recovery, Gary (Vickee) Schoenherr of Portland, Becky (Glen) Merry of St. Henry, Ohio, Bev (Jeff) Abels of St. Henry, Angie (Marty) Tomlinson of Elberta, Alabama, Tina (Monte) Huntsman of Portland, Nettie (Kevin) Thieman of Huntsville, Ohio, Eric (Jan) Schoenherr of Coldwater, Ohio, Kyle (Kathy) Schoenherr of Vandalia, Ohio, Kim (Jason) Zeigler of Coldwater, and Heidi (Mark) Williams of Sydney Australia; his 35 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren; his sisters, Irene Fullenkamp of Portland, and Rosie (Dick) Post of Celina, Ohio; and his sister-in-law, Roseann Schoenherr of St. Paul, Minnesota.
In addition to his parents, Vincent was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Dan Dahlinghaus; and his siblings, Imelda (Richard) Heckman, Anna (Bill) Post, Alvin Schoenherr, Joe (Joan) Schoenherr, Louis (Birt) Schoenherr, Roman Schoenherr, and infant siblings, Victor and Maria.
Vincent was a life-long dairy farmer. He also worked at New Idea in Coldwater for a short time and sold feed supplements for MoorMan's Feeds. Vincent served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Fort Recovery American Legion Post 345 and the Fort Recovery VFW Post 6515. Vincent was also a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Men's Sodality and a 50-year member of the choir. In his free time, Vincent enjoyed reading, spending time with his family and horses, and was an avid supporter of the Right to Life.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joe. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
There will be no reception of family or friends prior to the Mass.
