* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...St. Marys River at Rockford.
* WHEN...From this afternoon to Sunday evening.
* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, State Route 117 near Route 118 north of Rockford is water-covered and closed.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:40 AM EDT Saturday the stage was 12.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this afternoon to a crest of 13.2 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage early tomorrow afternoon. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Betty Thomas
Betty Lou Thomas, age 91, of Celina, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022, at The Gardens at Celina.
She was born April 19, 1931, in Mercer County, to John Anthony & Ruth May (Cordier) Kuhn. Betty and Dale R. Thomas were married on May 5, 1950. He preceded her in death August 23, 1993.
Surviving are their four sons: Gale (Nelda) Thomas of Celina, Wayne (Becky) Thomas of Celina, Larry (Monica) Thomas of Rockford, and Randy (Jill) Thomas of Celina, nine grandchildren: Scott Thomas, Jill (Dustin) Bell, Deanna (Chris) Weirrick, Katie McIntire, Melissa (Jared) Norris, Ashley (John) Hein, Jenifer (Shawn) Wycuff, Michelle (Maylen) Dunning, and Logan (Dariyn) Thomas, and twenty-three great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law: Dolores Kuhn and Margie Brookhart, both of Celina.
Preceding Betty in death were all eight of her brothers and sisters: Mary & Jack Hults, infant brother Paul Kuhn, Clarence & Alta Jean Kuhn, George Kuhn & Gladys Kuhn Shauver, Norma & Carl Buck, Naomi & John Bender, Joseph Kuhn, and Ray & Betty Kuhn, and a grandson, Jonathon Lee Thomas, Dale's sisters: Mildred & Richard Sheets, infant sister Eileen Thomas, and Marilyn & Dean Kuhn, and a brother-in-law, Rex Brookhart.
She had attended Burntwood School in rural Butler Township, and was a member of the Celina High School Class of 1949. Betty always said that she grew-up on a farm and worked on a farm. All of her married life, she lived on a farm northwest of Celina. She was a member of Grand Lake United Methodist Church - St. Paul's Campus, in Celina. Before joining St. Paul's, Betty was a member of Landfair United Methodist Church in Hopewell Township.Favorite pastimes for Betty were gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and baking. Betty liked to read and play the piano, and spend time with her family.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 12, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, with Pastor Mick Whistler, officiating. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling Hours are 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 11, and an hour before Services on Monday, at the Funeral Home.
