Herbert Siefring
Herbert J. Siefring, age 91, of Coldwater, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at his home.
He was born June 26, 1931 in Philothea to the late Bernard & Pauline (Dues) Siefring. On April 27, 1955, he married Stella Kunkler and she died June 16, 2013.
He is survived by nine children, Pat (Frank) Schwieterman of Anna, Doris Siefring of Coldwater, Deb (Joe) Hoying and Dennis Siefring both of Celina, Marlene (Steve) Pax, Lisa (Rob) Bye and Randy Siefring, all of Coldwater, Doug (Ann) Siefring of Osgood, and Jenny (Stan) Sutter of St. Henry; 21 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one on the way; a sister Luetta Forsthoefel of Coldwater; and in-laws, RoseAnn Siefring and Eileen Siefring of Philothea, Mary Siefring and Dorothy Siefring of Coldwater, Dorothy Schott of Ft. Wayne, Henry (Ruth) Kunkler, Jr. of Burkettsville, Virginia Heitkamp of Celina, JoAnn Kunkler of Carthagena.
He is preceded in death by a grandson Andrew Hoying; siblings and in-laws, Bart Siefring, Omer (Monica) Siefring, Orville (Jeannette) Siefring, Bernice (Don) Wellman, Gerald Siefring, Roger Siefring, Bernard Siefring, Elmer (Mildred) Siefring, Charles Siefring, David Siefring, Don Forsthoefel, Rosemary Olson, Ted (Martha) Kunkler, Fred (Evelyn) Kunkler, Ralph Kunkler, Donald Kunkler, Bob Schott, Florian Heitkamp.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, a lifelong farmer and served as a Sergent in the US Army.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater. Burial with military rites will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 pm on Friday and 9 to 10 am Saturday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
