Verena A. Langenkamp
Verena A. Langenkamp, age 95, of Briarwood Village, formerly of St. Henry, died Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
She was born February 17, 1927, in Chickasaw, to the late Anthony & Leona (Boeke) Bills.
She married Richard Langenkamp on May 14, 1949, and he preceded her in death on November 27, 2014.
Verena is survived by five children, Rita & Ron Kremer of New Bremen, Rene Warren & Ed Anthony of Columbus, Agnes Gibson of Loveland, Henry & Patricia Langenkamp of St. Henry, and James & Susan Langenkamp of Corpus Christi, Texas, eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, a sister, Joan Post, and a sister-in-law, Joanie Bills. In addition to her husband and parents, Verena is preceded in death by siblings and in-laws: Cyril Bills, Armella & Charles Steinke, Lester Bills, and Ben Post. She was the last of her generation for the Langenkamp family.
Verena was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Burkettsville and its Ladies's Sodality. She was a farmer's wife, a homemaker, and a loving mother. She was a volunteer at the Center for Neurological Development in Burkettsville for over 25 years, as well as a volunteer for a local hospice. Verena loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors, and talking on the telephone.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 23, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Burkettsville.
Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, and from 9:00 to 9:30 AM on Wednesday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
