Jerald Bergman
Jerald A. Bergman, age 76, of Rossburg, died on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Joint Township Hospital in St. Marys.
He was born February 22, 1946, in McCartyville to the late Andrew & Lucille (Frey) Bergman. He married Deborah (Niemeyer) on October 5, 2001, and she survives in Rossburg.
Jerry is also survived by children, Brian & Lisa Bergman of Rossburg, Anita & Mike Dicke of Celina, Jennifer & Dan Langenkamp of St. Henry, Brad Bergman of Palestine, Mandy & Brad Barga of Ansonia, Kelly & Jason Billenstein of North Star, Kurt & Jaime Bergman of Rossburg, and a stepdaughter, Dana & Mike Thobe of Maria Stein; 33 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; as well as siblings and in-laws: Elton "Butch" Bergman, Linda & Jim Bergman, Theresa & Ken Westbay, Marlene & Bill Wilker, Delores Bergman, Rosie Cooper, Jeff & Barb Niemeyer of London, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by siblings and in-laws, Marion "Moe" Bergman, Alice "Sarie" & Orville Niekamp, Eugene Bergman, and Dave Cooper.
Jerry was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Burkettsville. He graduated from Mississinawa High School in 1964 and was drafted to serve in the U.S. Army in 1967. He was a long-time member of the North Star American Legion. Jerry was devoted to serving his community. He served as a Township Trustee for 33 years, worked for the Darke County Highway Dept. for 38 years, was a 4-H advisor for 18 years, and was the Associated President of the Fire Department for 18 years. He enjoyed playing softball for Bob Hoening's team, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at St. Bernard Church in Burkettsville. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery in Burkettsville.
Friends may call from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Friday, November 25, or from 9:00 am - 9:30 am on Saturday, November 26, at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
