Helen Haehn
Helen Virginia (Landwehr) Haehn, 91, of Wapakoneta, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Otterbein, Cridersville.
Helen was born July 15, 1931, in Delphos, the youngest daughter of Carl and Katherine (Klevorn) Landwehr who preceded her in death. On February 7, 1953 she married Dr. John Ralph Haehn, and he preceded her in death Oct. 10, 2016.
Helen was a homemaker and worked side by side with her husband gardening, canning and making jams that they generously shared with their family and friends. She loved reading, playing cards and games, and spending time with her family and grandkids. She also enjoyed being a member of the St. Joe Sewing Ladies.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John R. Haehn, her son, John R. "Jack" Haehn, Jr., her grandson, Richard L. Bible, Jr., and her siblings, Mary Hiller, Jeanne Bendele; Bernard Landwehr; Lois Keck; Harold Landwehr; Ruth Bensman, and Donald Landwehr.
Her survivors include: four sons, David Haehn, Edward (Julia) Haehn, Daniel (Margie) Haehn and Kevin (Cheri) Haehn; three daughters, Lisa (Ric) Bible, Debra (Phillip) Bellman and Katherine (Roger) Wilcox; 17 grandchildren: Kelly Bible; Andrea (Bible) Hall; Jennifer (Haehn) Brown; Alec Haehn; Rachel Haehn; Kimberly (Haehn) Below; Angela Haehn; Danielle (Haehn) Allende; John Haehn; Thomas Bellman; Megan (Bellman) Doty; James Bellman; Jacob Haehn; Nicholas Haehn; Molly Swisher; Lydia Swisher; Jack Swisher and 27 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, with Rev. Sean Wilson officiating. Burial is to follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Wapakoneta.
The family will receive friends 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, 1102 Lincoln Ave., (St. Rt. 501) Wapakoneta.
