Candise Snyder
Candise Elaine Snyder, age 73, passed away on January 13, 2023 at Hospice of Miami County in Troy.
She was born on June 26, 1949 in Celina, OH to the late Gerald and Virginia (Rupert) Chrisman. She was married to Allan Brent Snyder, and he preceded her in death on June 25, 2010.
Candy is survived by her children: Mona (Tim) Anderson of Troy; Mark Aaron (Debbie) Laux of Dublin and Heather Croft of Troy; stepchildren: Scott (Jennifer) Snyder of Lafayette, IN and Susie (Terry) Woods of Kettering; siblings: Diane (John) Kochert of Celina; Holly Waltz of Portland, IN and Gary Chrisman of Jenison, MI; grandchildren: Ethan (Kacie) Anderson, Cody (Julia) Laux, William (Morgan Peltier) Smith, Caleb Laux, Andrew (Payton Riley) Smith, Rachel (Ryan Luchene) Anderson, Hannah Laux, Kristen Krassow, Bella Snyder and Chloe Snyder and great grandchild: Norah Anderson.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Candy was preceded in death by her brother: Timothy Chrisman; grandson: Noah Anderson and son-in-law: Kevin Croft.
She was a 1967 graduate of Celina High School. Candy was in the floral design business for 40 years. She owned and operated Creative Designs Flowers & Gifts in New Carlisle and was formerly employed with Andy's Garden, Furst the Florist, Trojan Florist, and Tipp Florist. Candy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Troy and former member of the Chancel Choir. She helped to establish a Parkinson's support group in the area.
She was excited to volunteer this past fall at the Arbogast Performing Arts Center until her health took a turn. She enjoyed her artwork, floral designing, and interior design. She also enjoyed hiking, traveling and volunteering with her friend, Rich Barger, when able. Candy had a kind heart and many good friends over the years. She loved and was very proud of all her children and grandchildren, often sharing stories of their accomplishments. She was very happy to welcome her new great granddaughter this past October.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12:00PM on January 28, 2023 at the First United Methodist Church, 110 West Franklin Street, Troy, OH. Private interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery in Troy.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, American Liver Foundation or Hospice of Miami County.
