Gloria Schwartz
Gloria Jean Schwartz, 78, of rural Spencerville passed away after a brief illness at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton on Friday, February 24, 2023.
She was born April 11, 1944 to the late John and Virginia (Johnson) Ringwald.
On June 8, 1963, she married Larry E. Schwartz of rural Spencerville who survives.
Gloria is survived by her sons, Larry E. Schwartz Jr. of Florida and Jeffrey L. (Polly) Schwartz of rural Spencerville: 4 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and sisters, Rebecca Race and Katherine Adams. She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Dick Ringwald and Tina McDaniel.
Gloria was a graduate of Spencerville High School class of 1962. She continued her education receiving a Masters of Education degree from Wright State University. She taught grades 3 and 4 at Mendon Union Local Schools and Parkway Schools, retiring after 35 years. She was named to the "Who's Who of American Teachers" twice in her career. Gloria enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, and playing cards.
There will be a visitation from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville. Her funeral will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, February 27, 2023 with an hour of visitation before the service also at the funeral home with pastor Andrew J. Atkins officiating.
Burial will take place following the service at King Cemetery in Van Wert County. Memories may be shared and viewed by visiting www.baylifffuneral.com.
In honor of Gloria, memorials may be given to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
