Stephen "WAGS" E. Weigel, 72, of St. Marys, OH died 8:50 a.m. Tuesday March 14, 2023.

He was born January 7, 1951 in Lima, OH to Earl and Patricia (Cogan) Weigel. He was married to Pamela Vires, who died January 26, 2008.

Survivors include: son Eric (Joyce) Weigel of St. Marys, OH; daughter Stacy (Rod) Coffey of Wapakoneta, OH; daughter Danielle (Brian) Garman of St. Marys, OH; daughter Tiffany (John) Neargarder of St. Marys, OH; step-son Andrew Maher of Holland, OH; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Jerry (Jodi) Chilcoat of St. Marys, OH; sister Teresa Veit of Columbus, OH; brother Thomas Veit of Richmond, KY; sister-in-law Penny Glass of St. Marys, OH; sister-in-law Stacy Koeper of St. Marys, OH; significant other Peg Wale of St. Marys, OH, with whom he enjoyed 12 wonderful years.

Preceded in death by: father Earl Weigel; mother Patricia Weigel-Veit; step-father Thomas Veit, Sr.; sister Judith Wical.

He was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1969) and attended Bowling Green State University. He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in St. Marys, where he worked in supervision of various departments. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council # 1592, VFW Post 9289 (lifetime) and Eagles Lodge Aerie # 767 (lifetime), all in St. Marys. "WAGS" was an avid sports enthusiast who followed the OSU Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Reds. He volunteered countless hours for the annual festival at his church. Steve will be remembered as faithful, friendly, hard-working and supportive to all of his family members.

Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday March 17, 2023 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 511 E. Spring Street in St. Marys. Burial will follow at the St. Thomas Cemetery in Glynwood, OH.

Visitation 4 -8 p.m. on Thursday at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703) in St. Marys.
