Eugene "Gene" Phlipot, age 88 of Minster, Ohio, died at 5:43 AM on Friday, April 7, 2023 at St. Rita's Hospital, Lima, Ohio. He was born on May 24, 1935 in Newport, Ohio to the late Henry & Lena (Francis) Phlipot.

He married Mary Lou Kemper on June 29, 1955 in St. Michael Church Fort Loramie, Ohio. She survives in Minster.

He is also survived by children: Cathy Baumer, Minster, Mark Phlipot, Springfield, Paul & Pam Phlipot, Vicky Goubeaux, Minster, Andy & Brianna Phlipot, Minster, Keith Phlipot, Minster, 22 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and two on the way, brother: Francis & Janice Phlipot, North Star, in-laws: Mary Phlipot, New Bremen, Evelyn Kemper, Montezuma, Rosemary Poeppelman, Osgood, Tom & Ann Kemper, Xenia.

He was preceded in death by great grandchildren: Landen & McKinlee, sons-in-law: Ronald Baumer, Dan Goubeaux, daughter-in-law Estella Phlipot, brothers & sisters: Joseph, Charles, Leon, Edwin, Ernie, Mildred Gaier, Loretta Edwards, Eleanor Schlater, Pauline Siefring, Eileen Overman, in-laws: Alvin Kemper, Lester Kemper, Elton Kemper, Robert Kemper.

He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster Volunteer Fire Department, Jaycees, and Minster F.O.E. #1391.

Gene was an avid Wooden Shoe Beer collector, loved to refurbish pedal cars and enjoyed gardening and gambling. He worked for 35 years at Hausfeld Motors, 10 years with the Village of Minster, and with Ed Liette Realty.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 AM Thursday, April 13, 2023 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster with burial to follow in St. Augustine Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 3 to 7 PM and from 8:30 to 9:00 AM on Thursday.
