* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Maurice Herron
Maurice M. "Sam" Herron age 85, of New Weston passed away at 2:13 am Thursday, April 20, 2023, at his residence.
Maurice was born May 11, 1937, in Wabash, Indiana, to the late Merl & Alice (Agle) Herron.
Maurice was also preceded in death by his grandchildren, Robin David Idle and Pam Phillips; brothers, David, Lonnie and Rick Herron; and sister, Roselyn Strahm.
Maurice is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruth (Hecht) Herron whom he married September 5, 1959; children, Mitchial & Neva Herron of St. Marys, Regina & Charles Evers of New Weston and Maurice & Lisa Herron of Greenville; grandchildren, Jackie Jones, Robbie Bragg, Jarrod Idle, Casey & Brad Lentz, Zach & Abby Evers, Jessica & Luke Moore, Madison Evers, Olivia Herron, Clayton Herron and Julia Herron; great grandchildren, Alice Lentz, Max Lents, Pete Lentz, Sam Evers, Henry Evers, Opal Moore and Reece Moore; and sister, Amanda Ford of Salem, Alabama.
Maurice served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired from New Idea in Coldwater after 38 years of service. Maurice was a 50 year member of Ft. Recovery Masonic Lodge No. 539 F. & A.M. and a member of the Darke County Harness Horsemen's Association. Maurice stabled and trained horses at the Darke County Fairgrounds.
A masonic memorial service will be conducted by the Ft. Recovery Masonic Lodge No. 539 F. & A.M. at 7:00 pm Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville followed by a celebration of Maurice's life with Pastor Mark Fuerstenau officiating.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to EverHeart Hospice in Greenville.
