Light snow across the area early this morning will increase in coverage and intensity toward sunrise in the I-70 corridor. This band of moderate snow will push south affecting the Tri-State region by mid morning, eventually pushing south of the area by early to mid afternoon.
Snow amounts of 1-2 inches will common for a good portion of the area on grassy surfaces, with melting on concrete surfaces limiting accumulations. Main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on mainly bridges and overpasses.
Temperatures today will remain steady mainly in the upper 20s. These cold temperatures combined with gusty winds of 20-25 mph will result in wind chill values in the teens to lower 20s.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Monday morning commute.

Robert Fields
Robert Devon Fields, age 80, of Mendon, passed away on Wednesday evening, April 26, 2023, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
He was born December 28, 1942, in Portland, Indiana. His father, Charles Fields and mother, Ruby (Reynolds) Uhrick, preceded him in death.
Bob married Vicky L. Dynes, who survives, along with their son and daughter-in-law, Raymond & Catina Fields of Celina, and 3 grandchildren: Heather Fields (Tyler Schick), Ashley (Matt) Biederman, and Tyler Fields.
A sister-in-law, Chris Uhrick of Mendon, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Rocksand (Joby) Hollinger, Stoney Dynes, and Donna Dynes, all of Greenville, and Cheryl Dynes of Ansonia, also survive, along with many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his brother, Raymond L. Fields, half-brother, Allen Uhrick, and brothers-in-law: Bobby Dynes and Rick Dynes.
A graduate of Versailles High School, Bob served for 4 years with the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He retired from Goodyear in St. Marys after many years of service. Bob enjoyed using the computer to play games, look up recipes, and research genealogy. He also liked to make photo and music CD's for the family. Bob loved to spend time outdoors, and in his younger years he enjoyed fishing. He could talk for hours about his service in Vietnam, particularly working on the Huey Helicopters.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, May 1, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Mendon, with Rev. Tom Christen officiating.
There will be Military Rites at the funeral home following the service, to be conducted by members of Celina VFW Post #5713 and American Legion Post #210.
Calling Hours are before services on Monday, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, at the Mendon funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date at Mendon Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity to benefit Vietnam War veterans.
