Jaclyn Monahan
Jaclyn Anne Monahan (Kerns) of Celina, Ohio passed away in the morning of February 5th, 2023.
She was born Jaclyn Anne Kerns to John Joseph and Maryellen (McIntosh) Kerns in Detroit, Michigan, on September 21, 1940. Jaclyn was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond P. Monahan of Buffalo, NY, her father & mother, stepsons, Raymond & Robert, and brothers, George Kerns and John Joseph Kerns.
She is survived by a son, John Carter Monahan, a daughter, Mary Kay Popovski, sisters, Connie (James) Fleck and Barbara (James) Dabbelt, brothers, Chris (Carole), Tim (Sally), Michael (Kelli), and Ted (Allison), a sister-in-law, Teressa Kerns, and a stepdaughter, Debora Monahan-Rosowicz, as well as many grandchildren.
Jackie attended IC grade school in Celina and graduated from high school as valedictorian from Salem Heights. She studied with Sisters of the Precious Blood in Dayton to become a nun. She also attended the University of Dayton and the University of St. Francis in Ft. Wayne. Jaclyn was best known as a delivery person for Guardian Photo, driving the senior citizens' bus in Hamburg, NY, and later, in Celina, she picked up cars for auto dealerships and delivered flowers.
She will be remembered as the "cheery" Walmart greeter in Celina. No one was a stranger to Jackie and she brought a smile to everyone's face.
A Celebration of Life for Jaclyn will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 27, 2023, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, OH, with Fr. Prashanth officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will follow the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
At 12 p.m., Sat. May 27, a luncheon will be served at the Immaculate Conception Church hall. Anyone who knew her is welcome to celebrate Jackie!
