Denis Dabbelt
Denis (Deny) Joseph Dabbelt, 57, of Celina, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 28, 2023, with family by his side.
He was born April 17, 1966 to Jim and Barbe (Kerns) Dabbelt, who survive in Celina.
Also surviving are his four siblings: brother and best friend, Brian (Katie) Dabbelt of Celina, sisters; Cindi (John) Hoggard of Boston, MA, Trisha (Yianni) Pimenidis of Cincinnati, Beth (Pat) Thorsen of Bozeman, MT and his nieces and nephews; Harrison and Annabelle Dabbelt, Jack, Katherine, and Jed Hoggard, Alexander and Christopher Pimenidis, and Ellis, Liam and Isak Thorsen.
Deny was a 1984 graduate of Celina High School. He received his Associates Degree in accounting from the University of Cincinnati in 1990. Upon graduation, he moved to Denver, CO, where he guided outdoor adventure tours and promoted the development of Mountain Board Sports as National Sales Manager.
He returned home to the lake, owning and managing Century 21 Realty, and earning multiple Quality Service Awards for the Indian Lake Region. Deny was employed as a welder for Thieman Tailgates in Celina who provided him with support beyond all expectations. Deny was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
As the oldest of five siblings, Deny taught us how to barefoot water ski, snowboard, and drive anything, boats, cars, snowmobiles, bikes. He taught us how to hunt and fish and the importance of honoring the land and respecting our elders. Deny loved all his nieces and nephews, sharing his values and wisdom with them as he watched them grow. Uncle Deny was the best.
His true passion was bass fishing. He could be found professionally fishing tournaments throughout the state of Ohio. Upon the loss of their brother, his siblings confirm, "God went fishing on Sunday, and He caught a keeper." Deny will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
His wishes were to be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina.
