* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Eugene Spicer
Eugene G. Spicer, 101 , of Celina, passed away on June 26, 2023 at Miller Place in Celina.
He was born on December 1, 1921 in St. Marys to the late M.L. and Emma (Kettler) Spicer. On August 12, 1940 he married Naomi L. (Mallory) Spicer and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include his children, Mike (Diana) Spicer, Celina, Vicki (Denny) Piper, Celina and Doug (Lucy) Spicer, Van Wert; eight grandchildren, Daniel, Molly, Cynda, Matt, Libby, Lynsey, Sara and Kristin; and nine great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Iona (Pat) Hoffman.
Eugene was a 1939 graduate of Celina High School in Celina. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during the WWII era. He owned and operated M.L. Spicer and Son, Meadow Gold Dairy. He started very young when they still delivered milk from a horse drawn wagon. He was a member of Grand Lake United Methodist Church in Celina, Celina Masonic Lodge, Celina Moose Lodge, Mercer County Elks and Celina Eagles Post # 1291. He was also a charter member of Celina VFW Post #5713. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, golfing and spending time with his family. He saw many changes in his lifetime including the advancement of phones and computers. Even at 101 he still enjoyed keeping up with family and friends and never acted his age. Eugene was a wonderful person and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Matt Overman officiating; where the family will receive friend from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery in Celina; where military honors will be provided by the Celina American Legion Post # 210 and Celina VFW Post # 5713.
