After the snow comes to an end, some roads may remain snow- covered or slick through tonight. Some patchy blowing snow may cause snow to blow back onto previously-cleared roads, allowing for potential slick spots to linger longer than would otherwise be the case. Exercise caution if driving through tonight.
Additionally, wind chill values around zero are expected tonight into early Wednesday morning. Bundle up in layers and avoid prolonged time outdoors, if possible.

Ed Schmerge
Ed Schmerge, 59, of Botkins, passed away at 2:23 p.m., Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born on January 4, 1964 in Sidney, OH to Victor and Alice Schmerge who preceded him in death. On May 12, 1984 he married Joy Oen and she survives.
Survivors include 4 children Josh (Jamie) Schmerge of Versailles, Adam (Renee) Schmerge of Fort Jennings, Joel (Erin) Schmerge, Jenna (Luke) Shroyer both of Botkins; 13 grandchildren Carson, Lydia, Chloe, Cora, Knox, Asher, Calvin, Crew, Jase, Remi, James, Finley, Jrue and 1 on the way; a brother Mark (Wendy) Schmerge; a sister Karen Schmerge; a father and mother-in-law Jim (Irene) Oen; brothers and sisters-in-laws Rick Oen, Rachel Oen, Ralph (Danielle) Oen, Rex (Jen) Oen and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother Jim Schmerge; infant sister, Janet Schmerge; a sister-in-law Bobbie Oen and great friend Darren Argabright.
Ed was 1982 graduate of Botkins High School. He owned and operated both Schmerge Grain Roasting and Schmerge Showpigs. He worked for DHI for over 40 years. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a grain farmer and part owner of Curly's Meats of Jackson Center. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren who he gave each one their own nick names. He also enjoyed spending time traveling with friends. He will always be remembered for staying active and his strong work ethic.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Church, Botkins with Father Sean Wilson officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Family and friends may visit from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Johns Volunteer Fire & Rescue or to Botkins Fire Department.
