At 420 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 7 miles north of Union City, moving east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 45 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Hail may cause minor damage to vegetation.
Locations impacted include... Versailles, St. Henry, Union City, Fort Recovery, Ansonia, Osgood, Burkettsville, North Star, Rossburg, New Weston, Yorkshire, Darke County Airport, Rose Hill, Cosmos, Maria Stein, and Eldora Speedway.

Gene Menuez
Gene R. Menuez, 93, of Benton, Ohio, was found deceased on Friday, July, 21, 2023, near Millersburg, according to Holmes County Coroner Dr. Leon Miller.
He was born December 17, 1929, in Saltcreek Township, Holmes County, Ohio, the son of R.T. and Marion (Wengerd) Menuez. He married Annelise Berg in 1952 and she preceded him in death. He married Vicky Green on February 2, 1970, and she preceded him in death November 4, 2019.
He is survived by his children: Mame (Don) Butler of Bowling Green, Ohio; Ruth (Lon) Briggs of Phoenix; Matt (Dawna) Menuez of Auburndale, Florida; Mary (Kent) Miller of New Knoxville, Ohio; Loni Menuez of New Knoxville; Gina (Ian) Borton of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is survived by his grandchildren: Jacey (Jared) Rhoads of Brentwood, Tennessee; Dane (Amanda Sue) Briggs of Phoenix; Katie (Mikey) Loehr of Piqua, Ohio; Ingrid (Joel) Tebbe of Minster, Ohio; Alexander Ventura of Columbus, Ohio; Gabriel Ventura of New Knoxville; Kaj Miller of New Knoxville; Posie Borton of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is survived by his siblings: John (Shirley) Menuez of Benton, Ohio; J. Mark "Butch" (Rosella) Menuez of Benton; Joel (Robyn) Menuez of Millersburg; Janie (Stan) Hochstetler of Berlin, Ohio; Judson (Glennis) Menuez of Benton; Jo Ann Mast of Harper, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by his wives, Annelise Berg and Vicky Green; by his daughter Ann Menuez; by his grandson Israel Menuez; by his siblings: James Menuez, Jill Parrot; Jacqueline Wilcox Schreifels; Judith Mast.
Gene was a 1947 graduate of Holmesville High School. He enlisted in the US Air Force and served from 1947-50 as a radio operator in the Berlin Airlift, moving humanitarian supplies to occupied Germany.
He worked at Benton Bridge Company and then served for many years as the president of Menuez Brothers Construction in Millersburg, building many bridges all around Ohio. He loved reading, woodworking, landscaping, and was an avid fisherman in both Ohio and Florida waters. He and Vicky enjoyed living in Blue Crab Key, Florida for a number of years after retirement. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Millersburg, American Legion Post 192, Millersburg, and VFW Post 7079 in Killbuck. He was a very friendly guy who liked to share stories about Holmes County history, especially about Benton.
Funeral rites,with military honors, will be held at Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery in Seville, Ohio at a later date.
