Elaine L. Evans, 74, of St. Marys, OH died 8:07 a.m. Sunday August 6, 2023 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH.
She was born January 11, 1949 in Lima, OH to James E. and Wilma E. (Glass) Lynch.
On May 8, 1971 in Sidney, OH she married Hanley E. Evans, who died April 28, 2014.
Survivors include: sister Kathy (Rocky) Clark of St. Marys, OH; nieces and nephews: Missy Clark, Joshua Lynch, Jackie Lynch, Jonie Lynch, Jordan Lynch; sister-in-law Kathy Burden of St. Marys, OH; sister-in-law Susie Goins of Goshen, IN; sister-in-law Brenda Evans of Goshen, IN; sister-in-law Edna Evans of Goshen, IN; sister-in-law Kathy Evans of Goshen, IN; brother-in-law Steve Burger of Goshen, IN; uncle Thomas "Timbuck" Lynch of St. Marys, OH; aunt Betty Durnell of St. Marys, OH; aunt Barbara Bubp of St. Marys, OH; uncle Robert (Sue) Lynch of St. Marys, OH; numerous members of the extended Lynch and Evans families.
Preceded in death by: parents James and Wilma Lynch; husband Hanley Evans; son Edward "Eddie" Evans (1979); son Mark Evans (1985); brother John Lynch; brother Michael (Jane) Lynch.
She was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1968). Elaine retired from JTDM Hospital in St. Marys, where she worked for many years as a nursing assistant. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys. Her favorite pastimes included shopping and going out to eat. Elaine will be remembered for her pleasant personality. A true "caregiver", she displayed a quiet confidence and ability to make her patients feel comfortable. She also appreciated the relationships she had with her many co-workers at the local hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday August 11, 2023 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys. Burial will follow at the Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton, OH.
Visitation 2 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Miller - Long & Folk Funeral Home 314 W. High Street in St. Marys.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Children's Medical Center in Dayton, OH.
