Madonna Bennett
Madonna J. Bennett, 72, of St. Marys, OH died 3:30 p.m. Tuesday August 15, 2023 at her residence.
She was born July 24, 1951 in Coldwater, OH to Alfred and Bernadine (Lefeld) Homan, both of whom preceded her in death. She was first married to Robert J. Foote, who preceded her in death June 28, 1981. She later married John Bennett, who preceded her in death January 29, 2020. She was also preceded in death by step-son John Foote who died January 13, 2021.
Survivors include: son Jonas (LeAnn) Foote of Ft. Recovery, OH; daughter Rachel (Brian Hohenbrink) Foote-Price of St. Marys, OH; daughter-in-law Karen Foote of Arlington, TN; step-son Mitch (Kem) Bennett of Parkersburg, WV; step-daughter Judi (Jack) Bennett-Patrick of Carmel, IN; 12 grandchildren: Cory, Sean, Andrew, Jacob, Haylie, Colton, Ava, Max, Erick, Connar, Riley, and Holton; several great-grandchildren; sister Marge (Keith dec'd) Gehle of Rockford, OH; sister Jane (Bill) Woods of St. Henry, OH; sister Sue (Bill) Freisthler of St. Henry, OH; brother Robert (Connie) Homan of St. Henry, OH; sister Nancy (Gene) Subler of Geneva, IN; brother Michael (Joyce) Homan of Greenville, OH; sister Grace (Gene) Fortkamp of Rossburg, OH; sister Lisa (Matt dec'd) Goodwin of Colleyville, TX.
She was a graduate of St. Henry High School (Class of 1969) and the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Dayton, OH. A registered nurse, she worked for Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Coldwater Community Hospital and JTDM Hospital in St. Marys. In addition, she and John were proprietors of Wayne Street Bar & Grill in St. Marys for many years. Her favorite pastimes included dancing to music John and his friends made over many years playing in local bands, fishing, reading, and riding with John on their motorcycle. Always up for a good time, she never knew a stranger, and will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday August 21, 2023 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 511 E. Spring Street in St. Marys, with the Rev. Robert Muhlenkamp, celebrant. Burial will follow at the St. Henry Catholic Cemetery in St. Henry, OH.
Visitation 2 - 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Miller - Long & Folk Funeral Home 314 W. High Street in St. Marys.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Grand Lake Hospice.
