Michael John Schwieterman, age 79, from Guntersville, AL, passed away on August 15, 2023.

Mike was born in Celina, Ohio, on October 4, 1943. He grew up on a dairy farm and was one of eight siblings born to Ernest and Regina Schwieterman. In 1975, he purchased a dairy farm in Jay County, Indiana, that his family worked on until 1984. He then moved to Marshall County, AL and worked in landscaping until retiring in 2016. In retirement, he enjoyed working at Marshall County Home Place.

Mike enjoyed farming for most of his life. He was an avid baseball and basketball card dealer and collector. He loved all sports, especially sports that his grandchildren participated in. He also enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with grandchildren and family.

Mike leaves behind a wife of 20 years, Norma Schwieterman. His children include: Steven (Julie) Schwieterman; Anthony (Stephanie) Schwieterman; Andrew Schwieterman; Kim (Matt) East; Michael Schwieterman; and Michael (Julie) Collins. Grandchildren include: MaKenzie Schwieterman, Meagan Schwieterman, Camden Schwieterman, Garret Schwieterman, William Schwieterman, Mikayla Collins, Clayton Schwieterman, Georgia Collins, Evie East, Ruby East, Bryce Schwieterman and Blake Schwieterman. Siblings include: Patty (Donny) Thobe; Bill (Joan) Schwieterman; James (Linda) Schwieterman; Roxann (Rick) Ahrens; and Pamela (Ivo) Knapke.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Earnest George Schwieterman and Regina Evers Schwieterman. Brothers include, Dennis Schwieterman and Richard Schwieterman.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Guntersville First Baptist Church, Guntersville, AL. Visitation starts at 1 p.m.; service at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to Marshall County Home Place or Shepherd's Cove Hospice.
