* WHEN...From 7 PM EDT this evening through Monday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms producing heavy rain will impact the area overnight. Rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches are expected with locally higher amounts. The heavy rain combined with saturated ground will lead to potential flash flooding.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...St. Marys River at Rockford.
* WHEN...Until Monday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, State Route 117 near Route 118 north of Rockford is water-covered and closed.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Mercedes Ballard

Mercedes Elena Ballard, age 31, of Celina, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Darke County.

She was born March 15, 1992, in Coldwater. Her mother, Victoria Reyes, survives in Fort Worth, Texas.

Also surviving is her fiancé, Caleb Borgerding, of Celina, her children: Emery Jude Bell and Cillian Von Borgerding, her sisters: Kelly Lyme of Celina and Erin Taylor of North Carolina, and a very large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Angelita Elena Garcia.

A 2010 graduate of Coldwater High School, Mercedes was employed at Totally Promotional in Coldwater. Mercedes enjoyed music, watching scary movies, and endless reruns of "The Office" TV show. Fall and Halloween were her favorite times of the year, and she loved decorating for the season. Most of all, Mercedes enjoyed just being around her family.

Calling Hours will be held at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, on Saturday, September 9th, from 12:00 Noon to 3:30 p.m., with Services to follow at 3:30.
