Nancy Jamerson
Nancy Ellen Jamerson, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on October 13, 2023, at the Celina Manor Nursing Home, at the age of 87.
She was born to Wallace and Inez (Cochran) Seckel on July 11, 1936, in Galion, Ohio. On April 17, 1958, Nancy joined hands in marriage with the love of her life, Richard E. Jamerson, a union that lasted until his passing in 1997. Together, they created a lifetime of memories and shared countless adventures.
Nancy is survived by her beloved daughter, Deanne (Jessie) Darland, and her caring son-in-law, Eric Stoner of Loveland. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter in her five adoring grandchildren: Hanna Stoner, Melinda Stoner, Nikki Mullins, Jessie Darland Jr., George Darland, along with her great-grandchildren: Luna, Luke, Leia McCain and April Darland. Their presence brought joy and warmth to her life. In her family, Nancy found comfort and connection with her brother, Walter Seckel of Galion, her sister-in-law, Treva Seckel of Galion, and her dear sister, Jerry Logan of Galion. Together, they shared the bonds of a lifetime.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father and mother Wallace and Inez (Cochran) Seckel, her husband Richard E. Jamerson, her daughter Laura Stoner, her brother Joel Seckel, brother-in-law Richard Logan, her sister-in-law Betty Seckel, and her sister Marjorie Seckel. Their memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Nancy was an active member of Planned Parenthood in Dayton and St. Matthews Lutheran Church, where she dedicated her time to the church's Altar Committee in Huber Heights. She enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including sewing, bird watching, traveling, crafting, and treasured every moment she spent with her grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Nancy's life will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Huber Heights, with Pastor Kelly Reagan and Pastor Melvin Younger officiating. Following the service, Nancy will be laid to rest in the Galion Cemetery.
Friends and family are invited to gather an hour before services 10:00 A.M. - 11:30 A.M. at the church to share their condolences and memories.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthews Lutheran Church at 5566 Chambersburg, Dayton, Ohio 45424.
