Celina Fire Department/Emergency Medical Services personnel attend to Andrea Bogan, 19, of Minster, after she was saved from her car that had plunged in a retention pond behind Romer's Catering in Celina.

CELINA - Two Celina fishermen were credited with saving the life of a 19-year-old Minster woman who had driven her car into a retention pond behind Romer's Catering in Celina on Wednesday afternoon.
Sometime after 4 p.m., Andrea Bogan of Minster, for unknown reasons, swerved from the drive running between Romer's Catering and condominiums, ramped over rocks and crashed into the pond, according to Celina Police Chief Tom Wale.
She was the lone occupant of the vehicle.
A woman sitting on her condominium porch heard a thud, saw taillights in the pond and got her husband, a preliminary investigation shows. The couple ran over to the submerged vehicle and told Bogan that she needed to get out.
Bogan reportedly tried to open the car door when water began rushing into the vehicle.
Two Celina men fishing near the spillway, Brandon Green and Josh Reese, both about 30 years old, rushed into action, according to Wale.
"They heard it and came over. My understanding is they partially stripped down and jumped in and rescued Bogan out of the car," Wale said.
Wale said Bogan couldn't get out of the vehicle herself.
"When they got the door open, water rushed in and it (the car) sank to where it is now," he said. "She would have been underwater. I fully believe if they wouldn't have been here, she would have drowned."

Bogan was reportedly checked out by Celina Fire Department/Emergency Medical Services and appeared to be unharmed.
She was expected to be cited with reckless operation, Wale said, adding the investigation is continuing.
"We would like to thank them (Green and Reese) for their heroic efforts to save the life of this young lady," Wale said.
