Fairground's chapel is taking shape

CELINA - While most Grand Lake area students reported to homeroom on Monday morning, juniors from the Tri-Star Career Compact construction course were busy installing the steeple of the Cornerstone Chapel at the Mercer County Fairgrounds.
The 19 juniors are working on the chapel as part of their school year project. [More]

CELINA - School board members on Monday night voted to forgo incorporating a storm shelter into the new 7-12 grade school gymnasium, backtracking on their decision last spring to keep the structure in the design blueprint.
MARIA STEIN - Marion Local school board members took the first step toward building a new junior high building on Monday night.
They also made plans to carve out much-needed classroom space to accommodate growing enrollment until the building project is completed in 2026.
FORT RECOVERY - Village council members on Monday evening authorized the mayor and village administrator to bid and purchase 89 acres of land on behalf of the village for potential residential expansion.
MINSTER - School board members accepted a $1.257 million bid from the Southern Bleacher Company of Graham, Texas, to replace the press box and bleachers at Minster Memorial Field.

The United States women's goalball team improved to 2-0 in pool play with a 9-1 win over host Chile during the Parapan American Games held in Santiago on Monday. The U.S. won its opening game over the weekend 5-3 over Canada.
