OPSWA Divisions IV-V All-Ohio Football

Cavaliers, Riders earn accolades

Coldwater placed three players on the first team in Division V as the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association announced its postseason honors for Division IV and V on Tuesday.

Senior AJ Harlamert was a first team selection at wide receiver while Midwest Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year Cody Depweg earned first team linebacker honors. Junior defensive back Mason Welsch earned the other first team honor for the Cavaliers.

Junior quarterback Baylen Blockberger was a second-team selection with offensive lineman Cale Wenning earning a place on the honorable mention.

West Muskingum running back Rashid SeSay and Valley View quarterback Caden Henson were named the Offensive Players of the Year in Division V while Garrettsville Garfield linebacker Keegan Sell was the Defensive Player of the Year. Perry coach Bob Gecewich and Waynesville coach Ben Johnson shared Coach of the Year honors.

In Division IV, St. Marys offensive tackle Camden Rothe was a second team honoree with defensive lineman Logan Compton earning a spot on the honorable mention.

Glenville running back D'Shawntae Jones and Canton South quarterback Poochie Snyder shared Offensive Player of the Year honors. Cincinnati Taft defensive back Tayshawn Banks was the Defensive Player of the Year and Canton South's Matt Dennison was named Coach of the Year.

Division II and III honors will be announced today with Division I honors being announced Thursday.
