Voters reject school levy by huge margin

CELINA - Voters on Election Day resoundingly struck down Coldwater schools' proposed 1.75% earned income tax levy, according to unofficial Mercer County election results.
The levy was defeated with 71% or 1,972 votes cast against it.
The proposed levy would've replaced the existing 0.5% traditional income tax with a 1.75% earned income tax. [More]

No challenger in November election
CELINA - Brian Miller emerged from a three-way race on Tuesday night to clinch the Republican nomination for the Mercer County commissioner seat currently held by long-entrenched incumbent Jerry Laffin.

CELINA - St. Henry school district voters on Election Day renewed a five-year, 4.6-mill operating tax levy.
The levy passed 499 to 261, according to the final unofficial Mercer County election results.
CELINA - Mercer County commissioners on Tuesday approved a $333,990 contract with Mack Industries Inc. of Bowling Green for materials for bridge projects in Liberty, Marion, Granville and Jefferson townships.
