Paul Donovan Jr.
Paul E. Donovan Jr., age 76, of Coldwater, died Friday, March 22, 2024, at The Gardens of St. Henry. He was born January 15, 1948, in Celina to the late Paul Sr. and Alberta (Rabdeau) Donovan.
On September 2, 1968, he married his high school sweetheart, Mildred "Millie" Bruns, who survives in Coldwater. They were happily married for 55 years.
He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Chris & Scott Buschur, and his four grandchildren, Paul, Luke, Grace and Kate Buschur, all of Coldwater.
Paul is also survived by siblings and in-laws: Jeffrey & Karen Donovan, Gladstone, MI; Pam & Max Ineichen, Berne, IN; Thelma Grilliot, West Palm Beach, FL; Robert & Martha Bruns, Rockford; Clara Beougher (Terry August), Celina; Tom Bruns, Ada; Vickie Giere, Celina; Mike Bruns, Celina, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his devoted dog, Annie.
He was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Timothy Donovan, and siblings and in-laws: Jessie Donovan, Dave Donovan, Peggy & Mike Monnin, Ruth Ann McMahan, Carl Grilliot, Martha & Steve Young, Wilma & Dale Quellhorst, Marie & Bill Hornberger, Darlene & Ron Thees, Larry Giere, Don Bruns, John Bruns and William Bruns.
Paul was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served from 1966-1969. He was a dedicated lifetime member of the American Legion Post 210 where he served as Commander for many years. Paul, along with other loyal veterans, was Co-founder of the Freedom Days Celebration in Celina. He worked at Huffy Bicycle for 31 years and was the Co-Owner of D&G Concrete.
Paul spent many years actively promoting the American Legion both locally and at the county level and spent hundreds of hours volunteering at Legion events throughout the county. Above all Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a loyal friend. His smile, laughter, and sense of humor will be missed by many.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27, at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater on Tuesday, March 26, from 3 to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina.
