* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Louis Overman
Louis L. Overman, age 95, of Maria Stein, Ohio, died on Friday, May 17, 2024 at The Gardens of St. Henry.
He was born on March 28, 1929 in Maria Stein to the late Louis Sr. & Rosina (Rolfes) Overman. He married Joan Gast on October 12, 1957 and she preceded him in death on May 17, 2016.
He is survived by daughters: Tina Jobes & Dan Herr, South Carolina; Amy Frysinger, Maria Stein; Jennifer & Kim Kremer, Coldwater; nine grandchildren: Anne & Clay Eilerman, Carrie Frysinger, Christian Frysinger, Josh Frysinger, Jake Robertson, Bridgette Kremer, Kurt Kremer, Clint & Sydney Kremer, Mallory Kremer; a great-grandchild River Kremer; and sister Dorothy Gerlach.
He was preceded in death by 3 sisters, 4 brothers and 12 in-laws.
Louis was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein. Louis was a graduate of St. John High School and was the quarterback for the "Blue Jay" football team. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and worked for 20 years at AVCO New Idea, then transferred to United Steel Workers until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the Maria Stein American Legion where he served bar and coached baseball as a young man. He was a member of the Mercer County Elks and was an avid golfer into his 80's. Louis supported his community and was a sports fan following the Marion Local Flyers, Ohio State, Cincinnati Reds & Bengals. He loved to watch his grandchildren in whatever endeavors they pursued.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein. Burial with full military honors to follow in St. John Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster on Monday, May 27, 2024 from 1 to 4 p.m. and on Tuesday, May 28 from 9 to 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Everheart Hospice and Shrine of the Holy Relics.
