Coldwater man dies from car accident

From staff reports

A 21-year-old Coldwater man died following a single-vehicle accident on Wednesday afternoon in northwest Auglaize County.

Robert J. Kahlig was driving a 2021 Honda Insight eastbound on Kossuth Amanda Road, near Kossuth Loop Road, in Logan Township when he drove off the right side of the roadway and struck a culvert at about 12:27 p.m., according to a news release from the Wapakoneta Post of the State Highway Patrol.

The Honda Insight then overturned and Kahlig was ejected.

Kahlig was transported from the scene to St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima where he was later pronounced dead, according to the release.

Kahlig was reportedly not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be factors in the accident, which remains under investigation by State Highway Patrol.
