Mary Smith
Mary Louise (Kable) Smith, age 85 of Celina, Ohio passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at the Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing Home at Shane Hill.
Born the daughter of Lewis and Remma (Felver) Kable on June 8, 1939 in Celina, Ohio. On January 26, 1962 she married Edward Glen Smith, who died on November 16, 2015.
Mary is survived by her two children Kevin Smith, Susan (Daniel) Maier both of Celina, a granddaughter Arrietti (Jeremy) Ricker of St. Marys, many Nieces and Nephews and great Nieces and great Nephews. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Glenn (Martha Sue) Kable of San Antonio, TX, In-Laws Jack (Jan) Smith of Peoria, AZ, Connie Smith of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Terry Smith of Columbia City, IN.
In addition to her parents and husband Mary was preceded in death by her In-law Robert (Judith) Smith, Donald Smith and Jerry (Sandy) Smith.
Mary graduated from Celina High School with the Class of 1958, she was a student at the National Music Camp (University of Michigan) Summers of 1956, 1957 and 1961 and the Interlochen Center for Art in Interlochen, Michigan taking adult writing classes during 2018, 2022, 2023, and 2024. She also attended and graduated from Ft. Wayne Bible College, with a degree in Music Education. Then she received her Art K-12 certification from Wright State University.
After college she taught Music and Art for Ohio City, Van Wert, Celina and Holy Rosary School in St. Marys until she retired from teaching in 2006. When she retired from teaching, she worked as a hostess at Bob Evans. She started the instrumental music program at Emmaus Lutheran School in Ft. Wayne, IN. She volunteered as the activity director at several campgrounds in the United Sates, including Bearcreek Farms. She enjoyed taking bus trips around the United Sates and Canada.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Scott Rowe officiating.
Friends may call from 1:00 until 3:00p.m. on Thursday at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Carmel Church of God 2493 Carmel Church Rd. Celina, Ohio 45822.
