Edward Lachey
Edward N. Lachey age 85 of Minster, Ohio, died on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Joint Twp District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born on February 8, 1939 in Fort Loramie, Ohio to the late Marcellus & Katherine (Borchers) Lachey. He married Barbara Ann Knostman on February 7, 1959 and she preceded him in death on May 11, 2011.
He is survived by children: Don Lachey & Lynn Johnston, Minster, Bruce Lachey, Cincinnati, Jodi & Steve Myers, Winter Garden, FL, grandchildren: Stephen Myers & Shannon McDaniel-Myers, Kassandra "Kaci" Myers, and Erich & Amber Myers. Great grandchildren Bodhi Lathrop, Everett Myers, as well as Ken & JoAnn Lachey, St. Henry, Naomi Richards, Ft. Loramie, sister-in-law Thelma Lachey, Anna, and numerous nieces & nephews. special friend Norma Barhorst, and her children: Jack & Jackie Green, Robert Barhorst Roanld Barhorst, Jeff & Krista Barhorst, Belinda & Dana Steinbrunner, Brenda Barhorst & Scott Albers, numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by siblings: Marc & Elizabeth Lachey, Lavern Lachey, John & Margie Lachey, infant Katherine Lachey, Alvin Lachey, and brother-in-law: Walden "Deacon" Richards.
He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, a past member of the Lake Loramie Improvement Association, Minster, F.O.E. #1391. He was a former member of the Ohio National Guard. He was a retired engineer from Minster Machine. Ed was an avid local high school sports fan, was an online trivia host and loved making connections with everyone he met, especially at the coffee club and his card clubs, Ed never knew a stranger.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster with burial to follow at Pearl Cemetery, Sidney.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 4 to 7 PM and on Thursday, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ft. Loramie Athletic Boosters.
