Joan R. Baumer age 90 of Minster, Ohio, died on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster.

She was born on November 20, 2024 in St. Marys, Ohio to the late Elmer & Alvina (Mertzman) Rump. She married Roman Baumer on July 31, 1954 and he preceded her in death on May 15, 2023. She is survived by children: Deb & Scott Smith, Pinedale, WY, Tom & Robin Baumer, Spring City, TN, daughter-in-law Cathy Baumer, Minster, grandchildren: JR & Rebekah Baumer, Jason & Nikki Baumer, Stephanie & Tim Stueve, Candance & Kevin Meyers, Sam & Destiney Cornia, Matt Smith, Allie & Logan Dawson, 14 great grandchildren, in-laws: Viola Clausen, Dayton, Marvin & Connie Baumer, North Royalton.

She was preceded in death by son Ronald Baumer, brother Dave & Dora Rump, in-laws: Mary Ann & Edward Gelhaus, Elmer & Virginia Baumer, Victor & Mary Ann Baumer, Joseph & Virginia Baumer.

She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was employed as a secretary at Minster Machine, then worked at the Wooden Shoe, was then owner and operator of the Dutch Mill and finally worked at Globus Printing. Joan loved following the Cincinnati Reds and playing bingo at Heritage Manor.

A Private Mass will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday August 24, 2024 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, burial to follow in St. Augustine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heritage Manor Activity Fund.
