Linda Hess
Linda Adel (Holtman) Hess, 76, of Versailles, OH passed away peacefully in her home Friday, September 20, 2024.
Linda was born on April 2, 1948, in Celina, Ohio. She was one of 10 children born to Jerome and Mildred (Dorsten) Holtman. Linda met her late husband, Michael, at Pullman Bay Restaurant in Celina. Linda and Mike were married 54 years.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband and siblings, Karen Mrachek, Kenny Holtman, and Dan Holtman.
Linda is survived by her children and their spouses; Eric and Theresa Hess, Aaron Hess, Andrea and Peter Iversen, Jason and Amy Hess, Christine Hess, Laura and Kyle Mowery, and Lindsey and Brian Moran. Linda is also survived by her grandchildren, Isaac, and Caroline Iversen, Lily, Robbie, and Allie Mowery, Elias, Griffin, and Maeve Moran, and Roger and Norah Hess. Linda's surviving siblings include: Bill Holtman, Mary Inda, Robert Holtman, Diane Machesney, Janet Joyce, and Pam May.
Linda is most fondly remembered for her love of people, food, and gatherings. She was always most excited for an opportunity to gather with others over food, which she most often prepared with her own hands. Linda had the most incredible gift of creating much more than what she started with. She was continuously multiplying what she had into huge meals that were welcomed by her family of 9 and sometimes even more. Linda gave all she had to the people around her.
When Linda no longer had giant meals to provide to her 7 kids, she began a career serving meals to the community as the store manager of Burger King in Greenville, Ohio. Linda had a remarkable work ethic and was always on to the next thing.
Most importantly, Linda was a faithful believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and a member of True Life Church. She began the legacy of faith in her household. Those who survive her take tremendous comfort in her position as a child of God, knowing that today she stands whole without suffering in the presence of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:8). All look forward to seeing Linda the way God intended.
Linda was a wonderful woman who brought love and warmth into every space she stepped into. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, friends and anyone else who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Friends may call on the family Friday, September 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with the funeral service immediately afterwards at 12:00 PM. Pastor Chris Barnhorst will preside over the ceremony with the burial to follow at Brock Cemetery.
