Andrew Wendel
Andrew "Andy" J. Wendel, 36, of Philothea, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, October 21, 2024.
He was born on September 7, 1988, in Coldwater to the late Ronald U. Wendel and Mary E. (Schwieterman) Wendel Gaerke.
Andy is survived by his wife, Taylor (Muhlenkamp) Wendel, whom he married on October 30, 2021; his beloved dog, Willow Grace; his stepparents, Bill and Cheryl Gaerke of Fort Recovery; his siblings, Kelly (Bob) Brunswick of Fort Recovery, Brad (Stephanie) Wendel of Philothea, and Sara (Brandon) Bettinger of Maysville, Kentucky; his father and mother-in-law, Gary and Angie Muhlenkamp of Montezuma; his brother and sisters-in-law, Tyler (Alissa) Muhlenkamp of Coldwater, Alyssa (Dustin) Schemmel of Coldwater, and Brittany (Ray) Siefring of Fort Recovery; his nieces and nephews, Nicole Brunswick, Caleb, Emily, Megan, Abigail, and Kenny Wendel, Addison, Mya, and Maddox Bettinger, Kelby, Ellie, and Kolsen Muhlenkamp, Marcy and Myra Schemmel, and Kipley and Wylie Siefring; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Andy was a 2007 graduate of Fort Recovery High School. He worked as a welder and fabricator for Cruiser Products in St. Henry. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Philothea. In his free time, Andy loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and being outdoors. He enjoyed tinkering in the garage, collecting random items, and was an excellent handyman. Andy was a family man and loved spoiling his nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, October 28, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Philothea, with Father Rob Muhlenkamp celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery.
Guests may visit with Andy's family on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM and again on Monday from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM, at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
