AUGLAIZE COUNTY - Voters in several townships and villages in southwestern Auglaize County will decide on fire and emergency medical services levies on the Nov. 5 general election ballot.
Minster voters will see a 3-mills, three-year fire and EMS renewal levy that would generate $323,000 annually and cost the owner of a $100,000 home $74 per year, according to Minster Village Administrator Don Harrod.
Levy funds would help finance the Minster-Jackson Township Fire Department and the Minster Area Rescue Squad.
Jackson Township voters will see a 3-mills, three-year fire and EMS renewal levy that would generate $106,000 annually and cost the owner of a $100,000 home $77 per year, according to the Auglaize County Auditor's Office.
Levy funds would help finance the Minster-Jackson Township Fire Department and the Minster Area Rescue Squad.
New Bremen voters will see two levies on the ballot.
A new 1-mill, five-year fire levy would generate $124,000 annually and cost the owner of a $100,000 home $35 per year, according to the county auditor's office.
Levy funds would help finance the New Bremen-German Township Fire Department.
The additional fire levy is needed for the purchase of fire apparatus and other equipment, according to New Bremen Village Administrator Brent Richter. He said the cost of equipment has risen sharply in recent years.
Also on the ballot is a 2-mills, five-year ambulance/EMS services replacement levy that would generate $249,000 annually, according to the county auditor's office. The current levy collects $179,300.
The owner of a $100,000 home would pay $70 per year, up from the $47 now being paid.
Levy funds would help finance the New Bremen Emergency Squad.
German Township voters will see a replacement and increase fire levy. It would replace a 2.5-mills levy with a 2.75-mills continuing levy that would generate $112,000 annually, up from the $79,400 now being collected.
The owner of a $100,000 home would pay $96 per year, up from the $47 now being paid.
Ley funds would help finance the New Bremen-German Township Fire Department.
Noble Township voters will see a 0.7-mill, five-year replacement fire levy that would generate $42,000 annually, up from the $29,300 now being collected.
The owner of a $100,000 home would pay $25 per year, up from the $17 now being paid.
Levy funds would help finance the township's contract with the St. Marys Fire Department.
St. Marys Township voters will see a replacement and increase fire levy. It would replace a 1-mills fire levy with a 2.6-mill continuing levy that would generate $350,000 annually, up from the $55,500 now being collected.
The owner of a $100,000 home would pay $91 per year, up from the $13 now being paid.
Levy funds would help finance the St. Marys Township Fire Department.
