Jeanette Whitacre
Jeanette E. Whitacre, age 86 of Celina, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at the Otterbein Retirement Living Community in Saint Marys.
She was born on July 12, 1938 to the late Robert & Annabelle (Forwerck) Harrod in Celina. On December 31, 1962, she married Philip Garry Whitacre Sr., who passed away on March 17, 2015.
She is survived by her children Kathi Lewis (Jerry Kahlig) of Montezuma, James (Kelly) Whitacre of Coldwater, Sherri (Jason) Bubp of Wapakoneta, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, sister Kay Randolph of Celina, and sister-in-law Kathy Forwerck of Celina.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Garry Jr. "Chip" Whitacre, brothers Donald Eugene Harrod and Paul Forwerck.
Jeanette attended Celina High School. She retired from Harts Department Store and worked part time at H&R Block. She was a social member of the Celina American Legion Post #210.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at the Lehman Dzendzel Funeral Home, with Rev. Lynn Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in North Grove Cemetery.
Friends and family may call from 12:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. on Sunday at the Lehman Dzendzel Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Grand Lake Hospice 1122 E. Spring St. Saint Marys, OH 45885.
