Born on November 28, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas, Ron was the beloved son of the late Charles and Betty (Meyers) Hammons. He is survived by his devoted children, Ronald (Donna) Hammons, Jr. and Rhonda Hammons, both of Wichita Falls, Texas; Jennifer Hammons Henkle and Christopher (Andrea) Hammons, both of Celina, Ohio. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, and his life partner of many years, Connie Gray, who passed away on January 3, 2024.
A proud graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School's Class of 1962, Ron went on to earn an Associate's Degree from Wright State University-Lake Campus in Celina. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era, stationed in Germany. His service was recognized with several decorations, including the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and a Sharpshooter commendation.

He loved playing and listening to music, traveling, and cheering for his favorite NASCAR drivers and the Kansas City Chiefs. An avid collector of classic cars, he also enjoyed fishing and relishing the lake and beach life with his beloved partner, Connie.
